Pick and Pack Fulfillment in Southern California's Inland Empire

We receive your inventory in Montclair, California, keep it organized, pick and pack each order, and hand it to the carrier, so your team stops handling boxes and gets back to running the business.

Overview

Pick & Pack Fulfillment at The Papez Company

The Papez Company is a family-owned and operated warehouse in Montclair, CA, in the Inland Empire, approximately 50 miles from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. We provide outsourced pick and pack fulfillment for e-commerce brands, distributors, and manufacturers across Southern California: inventory is received, stored, picked, packed, and shipped from one building.

Pick and pack is the work between an order coming in and a box going out: finding the right items, pulling them from the shelf, packing them so they arrive intact, labeling, and staging them for the carrier. Product is touched once when it is received and put away, and again when it is picked and packed for an order. Fewer touches means less material handling, less damage, and fewer hours your staff spend in a stockroom instead of on sales, sourcing, or product.

We handle both sides of fulfillment: parcel orders for online customers and case and pallet orders for retailers and wholesalers, picked from the same inventory in our Inland Empire warehouse. The people you talk to about your account are on the floor where your orders are packed.

What's included

What our Inland Empire pick and pack service includes

  • Receiving

Cartons, pallets, and containers are unloaded at our dock in Montclair, counted against your paperwork, and checked for damage. Anything short or damaged is reported to you.

  • Inventory organization

Each SKU gets a location and is logged. On-hand counts are kept current, so orders are picked from stock that is actually there. See inventory management.

  • Order picking

Orders are picked by SKU and quantity, from a single unit for a parcel to a pallet of cases for a store delivery, then checked before they reach the packing bench.

  • Packing

Each order is packed in a carton sized for the contents, with the protection the product needs. Inserts, packing slips, and branded packaging you supply go in the box the way you specify.

  • Shipment preparation

Shipping labels and documents are applied and included as your order or your customer requires. B2B orders are built onto pallets, wrapped, and labeled for the receiving dock.

  • Shipping coordination

Parcels are handed to carriers from our dock, and case and pallet orders go out LTL or full truckload. We negotiate carrier rates and schedule pickups for standard or expedited shipping. See freight shipping and receiving.

E-commerce orders

Parcel fulfillment for online orders

For direct-to-consumer brands, every online order is pulled, packed, and labeled the same way, from a single unit to a mixed cart. Your packing spec, from carton choice to inserts, is followed on each one.

Because inventory lives in the same building where orders are packed, there is no transfer between a storage site and a fulfillment site, and no second vendor in the chain. Read more on e-commerce fulfillment.

  • Single-unit and multi-line parcel orders
  • Branded packaging and inserts you supply
  • Packing slips and shipping labels applied at the bench

B2B orders

B2B pick and pack for wholesale and retail orders

B2B pick and pack is a different job from parcel work. Orders arrive as purchase orders with case quantities, ship-to locations, and routing instructions. We pick by case or pallet, build and wrap the pallets, label them the way the receiver requires, and stage them for an LTL or full truckload pickup.

Distributors and manufacturers use this to fill retail and wholesale orders without keeping a forklift, a dock, and a shipping clerk on payroll. Freight is coordinated from the same dock, with pickup scheduled around the ship window on the order.

How it works

How pick and pack works at The Papez Company

  1. 1

    Receive

Your inventory arrives at our dock in Montclair by parcel, LTL, truckload, or container. We unload it, verify the count against your documents, and flag any discrepancies to you.

  2. 2

    Store

Product goes to assigned locations, and counts are tracked, measured, and updated as it moves in and out.

  3. 3

    Pick and pack

Orders are released to the floor, picked, checked, and packed for their destination: cartons and protective fill for parcels, built and wrapped pallets for B2B.

  4. 4

    Ship

The finished order is labeled, documented, and staged at the dock. Parcels leave with the carrier, and freight pickups are scheduled at negotiated rates for standard or expedited service.

Who it's for

Who uses our pick and pack service

  • E-commerce brands that want orders packed and shipped without running their own stockroom
  • Distributors filling case and pallet orders for retail and wholesale accounts
  • Manufacturers shipping finished goods from a location near the Los Angeles market
  • Importers receiving containers through the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach who need orders filled from that inventory
  • Amazon and Walmart sellers who also sell direct and want one inventory pool for both channels
  • Growing businesses where the owner or the sales team is still the one packing boxes

Why The Papez Company

What outsourced pick and pack takes off your plate

  • Less material handling

Receiving, putaway, picking, and packing happen under one roof, with no extra moves in between. That cuts damage, labor, and the chances for inventory to go missing.

  • Time back for your team

Receiving, picking, packing, and carrier scheduling come off your staff's list. The stockroom stops competing with the work that actually grows the business.

  • A faster order workflow

Stored inventory feeds the pick line directly, so an order moves from release to the pack bench to the dock in one pass.

  • One shipping desk

Parcel, LTL, and full truckload shipments all leave from the same dock. Rates and pickups are handled on your behalf, so you are not calling carriers yourself.

FAQ

Pick & Pack questions, answered

Do you handle both e-commerce parcel orders and B2B case or pallet orders?

Yes. Both order types are filled from one inventory pool. Parcel orders are packed in cartons for carrier pickup. B2B orders are picked by case or pallet, wrapped, labeled, and shipped LTL or full truckload.

Where is your pick and pack warehouse located?

Our warehouse is at 4060 Mission Blvd., Montclair, CA 91763, in the Inland Empire on the Interstate 10 corridor, bordering Los Angeles County. We fill orders for businesses across Southern California from that one location. Call 909-229-4482 or send a quote request to get started.

Can I send inventory to you directly from a container arriving at the ports?

Yes. Our warehouse is approximately 50 miles from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Containers can be delivered to our dock, unloaded, counted, and put into storage, and orders are picked from that inventory.

Can you use my branded boxes, inserts, or packaging?

Yes. Send your packaging and inserts with your inventory or separately, and tell us how each order should be packed. We store the materials alongside your product and use them at the packing bench.

How will I know what is in stock and what has shipped?

We track, measure, update, and retrieve your product as it moves through the warehouse, and we report inventory and shipment activity to you. Describe the reporting you need in your quote request and we will confirm how it will work. See inventory management.

What do you need from me to get started?

A list of your SKUs, a sense of your order mix and volume (parcel, B2B, or both), your packaging requirements, and where inventory will be coming from. Put that in a quote request and we will come back with a plan and a quote.
